Just wanted o update my blog. First off, congratulations to Mrs Broccoli Guy for finally getting travel approval. It is about time! To those that have recieved referrals a big congratulations to all of you. I am so happy for all of you.
We are now officially waiting for our referral to come. Our agency is saying 4 to 6 weeks, and we are on pins and needles. I can't wait to see that beautiful little face. We have been so busy lately with remodeling and getting things ready for winter that we really haven't slowed down enought to think about our adoption. Which is a good thing, because I am the type of person who truly agonizes over everything. I am also not as patient as I would like to be, so this is really going to test my faith. O do believe that God is watching over our daughter and that when the time comes for us to meet her, he will make it happen.
We have decided to not buy anything baby related until our referral comes. Does anyone think this is a good idea? I just don't want to jump ahead of the horse and not have the right sizes. Is this crazy?

I don't think it's crazy. I bought a lot of yellow and green outfints, mainly sleepers and onesie types of various sizes and now I'm really over looking at a closet of unisex clothing. I want to wait until I know who my baby is and what size they may be closest to when I travel. So, no, I don't think you are crazy. It will make that referral whirlwind even more enjoyable.
I did the same as Melanie. We don't know if we will be referred a boy or girl, so I've bought a couple of uni-sex sleepers to try and kill off that feeling of not being ready. It still didn't work, and there are only so many uni-sex clothes out there. It's hard when you not only don't know the gender, but what sizes too??
