Memories

As I sit here this morning reading through all of the many blogs on Vietnam adoption, I am reminded of how I felt when we adopted our 1st daughter from Vietnam. It was 1999 and at that time Vietnam was not the popular place to adopt from. China seemed to be one of the countries that most people were choosing. I remember when we started the process that we actually were going to go with China, but at that time there was an issue with us already having 2 biological children and something about our ages(I'm really not positive on that issue). In December of 1998 we recieved a newsletter from the agency that we had been working with, telling us about their new Vietnam program. We talked about it and really prayed hard as to whether it was the right place for us and ultimately decided that we would pursue our adoption thru Vietnam. It took us 6 months from start to finish(things were alot different then) and we had our daughter home when she turned 3 and 1\2 months. We truly felt blessed beyond words at what God had given us. The whole experience was something that we will never forget. When we looked into our little baby's beautiful face we knew that this was the reason things didn't work out with China. Our destiny was waiting for us in Vietnam. That is where our family was supposed to go and where God had our special angel waiting for us.
Seven years later we are ready to meet our new baby. The agony of waiting for her picture is so very hard, and not being there for all of her 1st moments of life is even harder. It is a comfort to know that where ever she may be, God is watching over her and keeping her safe until we can be there for her.
We have been blessed with the love of 3 precious children. Knowing that we will be given the opportunity to share our hearts and home with another child is truly the biggest blessing of all.

I pray you get to see your little angel's face very soon. The wait for referral is so difficult.
